Monster by Merriam AlFuhaid

My thoughts have come

My mind has gone

And I am lost—

Scattered—

I see pieces all around me

Of you, of me, of what was you and me.

Although I swung the hammer

I have lost.

I cannot be happy with you

I cannot live without you

And I cannot explain

What it is to be swimming inside one’s self

To be drowning yet

Still running in circles

It seems I will always be wondering

In words I can’t explain

Until I have no mind left to wonder with.

It is dissolving

This will be the last time I am pulled underwater

Drip drop

Because there is no such thing as reality

There is no truth

So why keep up the search

I am nothing

But so are you

So are you, so are you

Goodbye

I won’t miss you

Cognizance is cheap and bitter

So I sell it for a high price

Goodbye

My memory is fading

My hopes, folding up

You are burning and there is nothing left

Goodbye.

It is my blood that is flowing

Drip drop

Tick tick tock

But I don’t mind

Because it is the monsters that are dying.
